Welcome Friends,
The Blue Chip Ranch is a family owned enterprise in the great state of Wyoming.  Due to many unfortunate circumstances, our  lifeblood, our Limousin Cows had to go spring of 2008, and we had to down-size the ranch and diversify the operation.  Now the ranch produces certified alfalfa hay, barley, registered quarterhorses, and the occasional litter of cowdogs.

Bruce and Gail Jacobson keep the majority of broodmares and young horses at their place north of Riverton, Wyoming. Gail does the imprinting and naming of the new foals, and Bruce handles the halter breaking and groundwork.  Bruce also grows certified alfalfa hay and barley, and occasionally has hay for sale.  Gail has her own leather business, specializing in custom-made leather pot holders and crafts.

Their daughter, Jill, and her husband, Ransom Logan, live and work on the Arapahoe Ranch north of Thermopolis, Wyoming.  Ransom is the Assistant Manager of the Arapahoe Ranch and Jill has her own law office in Thermopolis, Wyoming.  Jill and Ransom start the colts and use them for all aspects of ranch work.  The Arapahoe Ranch raises organic, grass fed beef, sits on about 400,000 acres in the Owl Creek Mountains, has close to 3500 mother cows and another 1500 or so yearlings, and all work is done horseback.
